Gondor Heavy Trebuchet

Based on the siege of Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings. Made for Rise of Mordor modification for Total War: Attila

Fair amount of research went into this project (movie reference, behind the scenes, actual trebuchet system).
Model created, rigged and animated by Adam Dotlacil. It was also my first take at Substance Painter.

Skeleton is custom, but animations needed to correspond with vanilla onager (Idle / Load / Loaded / Firing ). They also need to loop from firing to idle which is why the sling kind of "crawls" back on the hook.
