Demonstration of Iredescent effect in motion.
Custom car wrap materials made for a client who develops a car paint customiser. I was contracted to create several special Unreal 4 materials based on real car wrap designs. Most of them were regarding Iredescent / Pearlescent appearence. This effect had to be built on top of existign complex Car paint material and allow for further customisation.
This custom feature was constructed as Material Function and allowed the client to set up custom gradients between 2 colours or a rainbow gradient. You could also tweak the falloff, intesity and whether to include a custom reflection cubemap.
Some other materials also featured micro flakes which would could be monochromatic or have an irredescent effect.
